Mt. Balagbag, City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan

Mt. Balagbag is located in the City of San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. The mountain is 777 meters above sea level enough to see the picturesque of Metro Manila and the vast land of the province of Bulacan and Rizal. Along the way to Helipad (Mt.Balagbag's highest peak), you can see and visit Kaytitinga Falls. Kaytitinga falls is a one of a kind falls located in the City of San Jose del Monte, the falls is a huge, solid and layered rock which allows the tourist to enjoy the water from the falls in every layer of the falls. It is also possible for the tourist to visit the top of the falls by climbing through the huge rocks which adds excitement to your falls' experience.

From the Veterans, you will walk for about an hour and a half to get into the Helipad, the highest peak of Mt.Balagbag and is 777 meters above sea level. It is the highest peak of the city of San Jose del monte and 2nd to the highest peak of the province of Bulacan next to Mt.Oriod which is located in the nearby town of Norzagaray.

The view along the way and from the Helipad is stunningly beautiful! I can't find the proper words to describe the experience! Mt.Balagbag is recommended for 1st timers who wants to experience trekking, the trail is so easy to follow and safer than other mountain trails. 
Along the way you will see a gate and a small house, you have to enter the gate and register before going to the Helipad, the area is a private property and there's a Php10.00 fee for each head.

How to get there?


1. From EDSA Cubao take a ride of a bus going to Tungkong Mangga, the fair is Php45.00-Php50.00 only. 

2. From Tungkong Mangga find the terminal of jeepneys going to Licao-Licao, it is the boundary of Rizal and Bulacan. Php27.00 is the fair for the ride.

3. From Licao-Licao you can start walking to the Veterans, it is 30-40 minutes of walking. Along the way you will see the way to Kaytitinga Falls. To save time, you can ride a tricycle from Licao-Licao to the Veterans, Php25.00 is the fair for the tricycle.

4. From the Veterans you can start walking and follow the trail to the Helipad, the average time of walking is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Along the way you will see a gate and a small house where you have to register before proceeding to the Helipad. The jeepneys in Licao-Licao to Tungkong Mangga is only until 6:00 in the afternoon, be sure to leave the place before the last trip of jeep.
